Positive Vibes. Happy Life.
Recently, I’ve made some changes in my life that make for a happier me. Some are really small, while others are more of a lifestyle change but they all make a whole lot of difference.
What bought about these changes? – You may ask. Well at one point I was always questioning myself, as to what the purpose of my blog is… Am I focusing on the wrong things? Should I post less about beauty? Do I need to quit my day job to feel fulfilled? These thoughts and feeling just spiralled out of control and I found myself feeling majorly confused, so I decided to make a few changes, before it got any worse.
Now, although I still am finding my feet in terms of what my blog represents, I do have some plans in works, and what helped me to get to this point was 3 specific things which have focused, disciplined and made me feel happier and more rounded, so let me share…

Exercise: I have always dabbled with numerous diet fads and exercise routines, but, I have finally found something that works for me. About 2 months ago, I decided to join my local gym. I initially joined to get in some sort of shape for my coming holiday to Thailand, but, since I’ve joined classes and met a few friendly faces, I realised that this will not be a short term thing that I will only commit to until my holiday. Exercising not only helps me to lose weights and get fitter, but helps me release my frustration and takes my mind off things. I can put my headphones on (I’m really liking Spotify’s Rap Workout playlist) and commit an hour to making myself a better person, physically and emotionally… you know, releasing them endorphins and all that! At times I can be an easy quitter, but, exercise has taught me to I need to stay committed to see results – a bit like blogging.

Saying Yes & Laughter: I’m a naturally reserved and quiet person. I like to feel things out before I commit to something whole heartedly, which is why I told myself to just say ‘yes’ and go with the flow (within reason of course) – you never know what could happen. This also leads on to why it’s good to laugh. I can easily (almost happily) go a whole day feeling hella moody and not give a damn, but honestly it’s so much effort. And when I thought about it I actually had to ask myself ‘why?’. If any of you are on Snapchat, I would highly, highly recommend following Kevin Hart. He is tha man! He is a motivator and also so funny, and when you feel like being a lazy grumpy bum, just open one of his snaps and see him killing it in the gym at 6am, while being the comedian that he is. I really don’t have a reason to be grumpy. To be successful, discipline is needed and he really does convey that – so get that ass up, go get ’em and laugh!

#Goals: Everywhere on social media is #Goals this and #Goals that. To be quite frank, I cannot stand looking at people and thinking I need what they have, as I don’t know what they did to get it and what they are going through while they enjoy small perks that they choose to show, however, I love making goals for myself, based on what I want out of life. This is healthy. Every week, whether it’s a mental note or a full blown plan in my diary, I set myself goals and affirmations – which help me gather my thoughts, become more organised and actually make me more motivated to get the things that will make me happy.

So there you have it. Three things that I have changed in my lifestyle which have made me happier. Small changes and decisions can make huge difference. What are you willing to do to ensure your happiness?
Fab post! Good to see someone who wanted change and decided to go for it & I’m glad you’re a lot happier for it!
I love your bit about say yes and laughter, I laugh quite a lot but I am a naturally shy person, especially around people I don’t know and I do feel that if I could change that I could be so much happier (and feel less awkward in new situations / with new people)
Thanks for the inspiration! Really enjoyed reading this.

Not too personal at all, I love it – shows real life experiences.
That’s awesome, really! Too many of us live life doing what we think we have to do rather than what we want to do, fantastic that you’re making a change to be happier!
